Since 2018, a dedicated group of volunteers have been working diligently to plan for the new Jackson County Fair & Extension/4-H Outreach Center which was built on the Jackson County Fairgrounds in Maquoketa, Iowa. “Together We Build” is the name we have given the partnership between the Jackson County Fair Board, Jackson County Extension Council and Jackson County Board of Supervisors.

The end result?

A brand new facility that houses the Iowa State University/Jackson County Extension Offices, a conference room, commercial kitchen, and a 300 person state-of-the-art education hub, conference space and reception hall. The Outreach Center allows for the expansion of educational and training programs and opportunities with ISU Extension & Outreach as well as additional venue for meetings, seminars, corporate events, etc.

This committee dedicated hundreds of hours from the very beginning of this project, when Together We Build was simply just a dream. The Steering Committee knew that there was a need for a place in Jackson County to strengthen families, expand education, draw new programs and events, hire additional staff, provide new opportunities for the Jackson County Fairboard and so much more.
